Our Story
The Beginning
Our story began when we met at Kate Session's park in San Diego on August 20, 2022. While we have mutual friends through our places of work, Cara and Austin, our paths had not previously crossed. On that fateful August day, Cara and Austin planned a relaxing evening at Kate Session's and invited both of us separately. We were both debating attending after having a long day but luckily we both decided to go. While at the park, we interacted very little and ended up with many side glances at each other or staring while the other wasn't looking. I (Becky) kept asking Liz about him and for little pieces of information about Arash. I kept thinking to myself how sweet his smile was and how warm his presence was. I (Arash) kept finding out little details about Becky and kept thinking to myself "how is she single!" After some time, the group decided to leave the park. Becky had to work the next day so she went home. Arash on the other hand went with the rest of the group and kept asking Liz and Cara questions about Becky and they were eagerly trying to get us together. That night, Arash sent Becky a friend request on good old Instagram and the next morning Becky sent slid into his DMs with a "it was very nice to meet you yesterday" :). We literally talked every single day since. Becky had a trip planned shortly after their meeting but we planned a date for as soon as possible. During the wait, we would talk endlessly and we got to know each other very well.
On September 2, 2022 we had our first date at Samurai Restaurant in Solana Beach. We were so eager and excited to finally have our date after getting to know each other as much as we possibly could. Through the date, we couldn't stop smiling and stayed as long as we could until they closed. We ended the night with our first kiss and left the date with ear to ear smiles. Little did we know that it was just the beginning of our forever.
Our Engagement
Fast forward to June 25, 2023 and we are back to Kate Session's park where we first met. Arash told Becky that they were going to have a little date starting at the park and then picking up dinner to enjoy. As we were sitting on the grass enjoying the sun and answering questions in our couple's book, Becky noticed that Arash seemed distracted and antsy. Becky looked around to see if she could recognize anyone that would give away that the big question was about to happen, but she didn't see anyone. After some time, Arash asked Becky if she wanted to take a walk around the park before heading out. As they walked, Arash asked Becky why she loved him. Becky asked in return, "do you want the short answer or the long one?" Arash answered "the long answer", so they walked and Becky gushed all the reasons why she absolutely loved him. As they were coming back around to their chairs, Arash began telling her all the reasons he loved her. With a huge smile on his face, he knelt down and asked Becky to marry him! Of course she said yes! After a sweet moment, Arash pointed out his friend, Nate, incognito laying in the grass capturing the proposal (thank you, Nate!)
After leaving the park, Arash told Becky they were going out to a restaurant to celebrate together and that we would call our families during dinner. While blissfully floating on clouds, Becky thought all the surprises were over for the evening. As they walked into the restaurant, Becky saw their families there to celebrate the engagement with them! It was an incredibly thoughtful and perfect day!
The Celebration
We feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to finally have each other to love at this point in our lives. One saying has held true since the very beginning, "when you know, you know." We had no doubt that we found our forever in each other.
We are so very excited to share our special day celebrating our love and the beginning of our forever with all of you who mean so much to us! Plan to laugh a lot, maybe cry a little, eat yummy food, drink all the drinks and dance the night away with us! Our one request is that our wedding celebration is adults only.
